The Long and Short of It

Last week, a famous bride who spent millions on her wedding, announced her filing of divorce...after a mere 72 days of marriage. Recently, a Christian Iowan couple died holding hands...after 72 years of marriage.

Which would you choose? A "love story" like the celebrity or the love story of the elderly Christians? Whether one marries or not, the key to true life remains available to all: Jesus.

Ready to repent of idolizing stuff of this world? Great! Yes! Today, God invites us to repent, confess our sins, receive His forgiveness, and experience indescribable true love, joy, and hope in Him! It is only through Jesus Christ that we can live an abundant life. (Sometimes, this includes material blessings. But many wealthy celebrities possess the poorest, saddest hearts.) Regardless of outward conditions, the abundant life in Christ includes all that really matters: love, joy, purpose, peace, eternal rewards, overflowing hope...the list goes on and on!

So that's the long and short of it. What do you desire most? May it be Jesus.

In John 10:10, Jesus announced this: "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."
